Frank M. Henderson, 89, of Barnett, MO, a lifetime resident of Arkansas City, Kansas, left this life November 19, 2007, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, MO. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date. The youngest of three children, Frank was born to Pearl and May (Foltz) Henderson on August 8, 1918 in Arkansas City, Kansas. He graduated from Arkansas City High School and Arkansas City Junior College. He married Margaret Dyer in August 31, 1940. He was a part of "the greatest generation", serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served others his whole life through St. Paul's Methodist Church, as a Boy Scout leader, a Lions Club member and his work as a mail carrier. One of his proudest achievements was receiving the Silver Beaver Award for his service to the Boy Scouts. He was a role model, not only for his son and grandchildren, but also for many young people by living his faith and love. His beloved Margaret, his parents, sister Irene Severson, and brother Floyd Henderson preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Francis (Butch) Henderson and wife Mary, of Barnett, MO; sister-in-law Wanda Henderson of Arkansas City, KS; his grandchildren, Jennifer Martin, Jeffrey Henderson, John Henderson, and Jill Henderson, and eight great-grandchildren.
