Clarence Farris.
Clarence Henry Farris died at his home, 4 1/2 miles northeast of LaHarpe, Friday, January 24, 1919, at 8:55 o'clock a. m., aged 37 years, 8 months and 24 days. He was born in McDonough county, April 21, 1881 and spent his entire life near the place he was born. He was married to Mrs. Rachel L[.] Chrisman, Nov. 29, 1900. Five children were born to this union all of whom are living except Elma, who died in infancy, Nov. 12, 1907. The living are Fannie, Roy, Paul and Vere.
His parents were Jerry and Rachel Farris; his mother died when he was a small boy. He leaves to mourn his loss his aged father, living in Omaha, Nebraska; three brothers, Elmer, of Littleton, Colorado; Jim and Homer, of Omaha, Nebraska. One sister, Little, of St. Louis, Mo. Three brothers and one sister have preceded him in death, Thomas, Will, Lewis and Fannie.
He united with the Christian church at Old Bedford in the year of 1913 and such was his faith to the end. He was a kind and loving husband and father and a true friend and respected by all.
The funeral occurred at the home Sunday, January, 26, 1819 [sic], at 1 o'clock p. m., Elder E. E. Catlin, officiating. Interment at Wesley Chapel.
