Robert L. Clayton, 73, Galesburg, died Friday (March 24, 2006) in St. Mary's Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 12, 1933, in Gerlaw, the son of Orrie M. and Naomi Stephenson Clayton.
He married Marilyn Wilson on July 19, 1952, in Lewistown.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Peggy Donnelly, Galesburg; three sisters, Martha Clayton, Avon, Beverly Clayton, Peoria, and Sue Kitchen, Galesburg; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Diana; a sister; and two brothers.
He was raised in the Avon area. He lived the last 40 years in Galesburg.
He worked construction for 35 years.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Avon Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Corman Memorial Home, Avon.
A memorial is being established.
