THOMAS ANDREW HONZ PASSES AWAY SUNDAY
Requiem High Mass Held at Catholic Church Wednesday-Leaves Wife and Three Children
Thos. Andrew Honz was born at Buck Grove, Iowa, June 16, 1892 and died at his home four miles west of Dunlap, June 20, 1926. In 1909 he moved to Dunlap where he has resided. On Nov. 25, 1919, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Hoffman at Panama and to this union three children were born, Mildred, Margaret and Lucille. In addition to these children, he is survived by his wife, his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Honz, three brothers, Urban, Joseph and Clement; four sisters, Mrs. Al Stolz, Mrs. Geo. Schiltz, Olga and Mary, all of Dunlap.
Requiem High Mass was held at St. Patrick's church, Wednesday, June 23, at 9:30 a.m., by Rev. Father J. H. Fedler of Panama, who only seven years ago had spoken the words that united the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Honz.
Andrew Honz was a substantial, honorable man. He was a member of the B.C. Lodge of Dunlap, and he enjoyed the respect and confidence of all who knew him. He was industrious and enterprising, and his death deprives the community of a worthwhile citizen. He was a kind father, a loving husband and a dutiful son.
The remains were laid to rest Wednesday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Out-of-town relatives and friends who were here were as follows: Mrs. Fred Hoffman and sons of Panama; Mr. and Mrs. Art Hoffman of Panama; Mr. and Mrs. Art Hoffman of Panama; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Thelan, Randolph, Neb.; Mrs. Victor Teggart, Dallas, S.D.; Mrs. Al Blum, Defiance; Mr. and Mrs. Heinneman, Portsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Stephany, Earling; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hoffman and family, Panama; Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman, Panama; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Wingert, Panama; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wingert, Panama, the Schoefer family of Panama; Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Abbe, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Miller of Ida Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Ahart, Mr. and Mrs. Linford Ahart, George, Leo and Bernard Ahart, Mrs. Adolph Honz, Golda Honz, and Mrs. James Stepanek, all of Dow City.
