Mrs. Martha Rardin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Grafton was born in Louisville, Kentucky, March 3, 1861, and passed this life at Paris, Ill. on February 16, 1939, aged 77 years, 11 months and 13 days.

She had professed faith in Christ many years ago at the West Liberty Christian Church.

On February 20, 1881 she was united in marriage to S. H. Marrs, and they resided on a farm in the Richwoods vicinity until Mr. Marrs' death in 1912.

She then again was married to George Rardin on July 26, 1920, who also has preceded her in death.

To the first union there was born five children, three sons and two daughters, Riley of Marshall, Ill, Lonnie, who passed this life when a baby, Cleo of Paris, Ill., and Mrs. Lola Hornbrook of Marshall, Ill., and Mrs. Mandie Cash, of Terre Haute, all of whom will miss the tender love of a mother, kind and true. She also leaves a brother, Thomas Grafton, of Casey, Ill, a sister, Mrs. Sadie Churchhill of Detroit, Mich., six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Mother has gone to be with Jesus
We will miss her presence here
But she's singing with the angels,
Let us meet her over there.

Weep not dear children, I am resting
In the arms of Jesus sweet,
And when the toils of life are over,
Come and make heavenly home complete.

Funeral services were conducted by Bros. Sylvan Dawson at the Richwoods church, with burial in the Richwoods cemetery.
