DEAN ARNOLD HINKLE, 70, of Salisbury died October 8, 2009 at University Hospital in Columbia. Dean was born February 19, 1939 in Bynumville, MO the son of Arnold and Inez Elizabeth (Billeter) Hinkle. He married Judy Sears on June 14, 1959 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Dean was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the New Cambria High School class of 1957. He was a farmer, co-owner of B & D Hinkle Trucking and Dean Hinkle Grain. Dean was also a Cargill Seed and Mid-West Seed Dealer. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church serving as trustee for many years. Dean served on the Chariton Valley Telephone board for 9 years and Rural Fire Department Board.

Dean is survived by his wife Judy of the home; a son Bill Hinkle and Joy of the Salisbury; two daughters Sandra Geer and husband Lyle of Clarinda, Iowa, Tricia Strodtman and husband Curtis of Salisbury, MO; a brother Don Hinkle and wife Sandi of Salisbury, MO; sister Ruby Billue of Moberly; 9 grandchildren Travis Hinkle, Cody Kesler, Brett Geer, Ryan Kesler, Jeni Geer, Colin Binder, Hannah Strodtman, Kyle Hinkle, Caleb Strodtman and a great grandson Nicholas Dean Hinkle; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 4-8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10th at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury. Services are 1:30 p.m., Sunday, October 11th at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with burial in Fitzgerald Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
