T.A. Lattie
T.A. Lattie , 75, pioneer citizen of East Chattanooga, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. W. Funk, 2603 Wilder street, yesterday morning.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mollie Ashley Lattie, to whom he was married in 1881, and to this union were born eleven children, five of whom survive and reside in Chattanooga; Mrs. Jessie Long, Mrs. Ella Funk, Mrs. Cora Wright, Mrs. Ollie Cates, and Mrs. Minnie Braddock. There are eleven living grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Texanna Higgins, and Mrs. Carrie Dixon, both of Chattanooga.
Mr. Lattie was bornat Shellmound, Tenn., but his parents moved to Chattanooga while he was still a lad. He was a contractor during his active life and built for his home the first house in what is now East Chattanooga. For a number of years he served as constable of the old Sixth district, and for more then forty years was active in political affairs.
He was a member of the Junior Order, U. A. M. While he did not unite with any church, he was a regular attendant of the Manker Memorial church, where his family was active in church affairs.
Funeral services will be held from the Manker Memorial church at 2 o'clock this afternoon, with the Rev. F.H. Carey officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery , where the Junior Order will have charge of the sevice at the grave. Five sons-in-law and one nephew will serve as pallbearers. Coulter's in charge.
