Jennings: A memorial service honoring the life of Boyd "Jim" Linhart, Sr., 60, will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, La on Thursday, November 5, 2009 @ 11:00 AM with Father Donald Leger officiating. Mr. Linhart was called to his Heavenly Father Saturday evening at Our Lady of Lourde's Regional Medical Center while surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, Nov. 4th from 10:30 AM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Thursday, Nov. 5th at 8:00 AM until the time of his services. A rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. Mr. Linhart will be laid to rest in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery where he will be honored with full military rites.

Boyd James was born in Nampa, Idaho in the winter of 1948. He served in the United States Army which became his life's work. He was a very proud man and spent his life honoring his country. Boyd was a post commander for the American Legion Post 15 and also was retired as an Acadia Parish school teacher. He also worked as a casino floor supervisor. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening, and baking cookies and candy. He enjoyed watching sports especially the Ice Gators. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years and best friend; his mother, one son, three daughters, five beautiful grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
