John R. "Jack" Bicknell
, 87 of Columbus, KS, formerly of Marysville, KS died at 9:52am, Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at St. John's Maude Norton Hospital in Columbus, KS.

Jack was born May 6, 1920 in Carthage, MO to Raymond "John" and Blanche (Story) Bicknell.

He attended area schools. He went on to graduate college from University of Kansas and Kansas State University.

In April of 1944, he married Mattie M. Merrick in Columbus, KS. She preceded him in death.

Jack served his country in the United Sates Navy. He was a survivor of D-Day at Normandy Beach.

Jack was a pharmacist in a Drug Store in Marysville, KS for 43 years. He retired in 1989.

Jack is survived by his sons Phil Gribble of Columbus, KS; John Bicknell of Columbus, KS and Jim Bicknell of Florida; daughter Ann Hulett of West Pueblo, CO; special friend Christine Maine of Columbus, KS; several nieces and nephews; along with 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and Sister Rosemond Ray.

Per Jack's wishes his body has been taken for cremation.

Inurnment will be at a later time in the Marshall County Cemetery in Marysville, KS.
