David Henry Mixon, Sr., 68, of 24 Dove Circle, died Monday, November 2, 2009, at Oconee Medical Center.

Born in Clemson, a son of the late George F. and Mildred Cochran Mixon, he retired from Clemson University in 1992 and was a member of First Baptist Church, Clemson.

Surviving are three sons, David Henry Mixon, Jr. and Robert Mixon and wife Lori, all of Clemson and Michael Mixon and wife, Tammy, of Roanoke, Va.; one daughter, Cindy Mixon of Fountain Inn; one brother, Robert F. Mixon of Clemson; and four grandchildren, Nicholas Robert Haile, Loren Marie Mixon, Miranda Lee Mixon and Karly Ann Mixon.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Joe Allen Mixon; and one sister, Dorothy Mixon Gage.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons with burial to follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family is at the home of a son Robert Mixon, 505 Berkley Drive, Clemson.
