L.O. (Sandy) Sandmeyer, 75, of Anna, Illinois, a native of McKittrick, died Tuesday, June 4, 1991, at Veterans Administration Hospital at Marion, Illinois.
Funeral services were held at Anna, Illinois, Wednesday, June 5, with burial in the Anna Cemetery. The Rev. Phil Poe officiated.
Mr. Sandmeyer was born at McKittrick, November 30, 1915, the son of Otto D. and Lucille Lemmel Sandmeyer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Anna, a veteran of World War II, a member of Anna American Legion Post No. 344, a member of Anna Lodge No. 520 A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite bodies, Valley of Danville, Illinois, Ainad Temple of East St. Louis, and Oasis Shrine Club of Anna. He was a member of Anna Moose Lodge No. 1346. He was educated in the McKittrick and Hermann public schools, graduating from Hermann High School. He was preceded in death by his wife, Avis Sandmeyer, in 1963.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Milton (Glenda) Wohlt of Hermann and Noweta Taylor of Jefferson City, and a stepdaughter, Betty Ludwig of Athens, Texas.
