Funeral for Dean Ferguson, 96, of Paradise was Jan. 15 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home with the Revs. Doug Acklie and Lionel Bailey officiating. Burial was at Paradise Cemetery.
Ferguson died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, in Decatur. Born Jan. 16, 1913, in Wise County to Jesse Lafayette and Lara Rhoda Potts Womack, she married Bun "Pete" Ferguson Oct. 15, 1939, in Love County, Okla. Dean retired after 30 years as a grocery store owner in Paradise, where she was a member of First Christian Church.
Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband on May 3, 1986. She is survived by her daughter, Clara Niblett and husband, Wayne, of Paradise; grandchildren, Kevin Niblett of DeSoto and Kristi Force and husband, Guy, of Saginaw; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Force; two nieces; and one nephew.
Pallbearers were Dennis Meek, Ronald Womack, Jimmy David Cantrell, Jimmy Munn, Gary Potts and Neal Munn.
