Born and raised in the Pender/Duplin/Onslow County areas of NC he finished High School and joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming (1962-1964) when he met his soon to be wife Carol and fell in love. After she finished high school, they married and due to his father having a heart attack and not being able to work the farm, they spent their honeymoon driving to NC to help out and start a life together. They settled months later in Wilmington, NC and began their family. They had three children, David Jr, Michael & Maria. At the age of 30 he was reaching his goal of obtained his pilot license, as was his dream. While at the young age of 31 he suffered a brain aneurysm on March 2, 1975 while at a family get together and died the following morning. He is always described as such a giving man and wonderful Christian. He will live on forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
