Funeral services are planned for John William Anderson, 73, of Olathe at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Presbyterian Church here with internment in the Olathe Cemetery. K.A. Stone will officiate and Ormsbee Mortuary will direct.


Mr. Anderson died about 11:40 p.m. at his home at Olathe after being ill for some months. Born August 20, 1881 at Marietta, Mississippi, Mr. Anderson spent his early life in his native state. He moved to Texas as a young man and was married there September 18, 1904, to Miss Emma Lanier. The family moved to Olathe about 37 years ago where Mr. Anderson engaged in farming. He was a member of the Church of Christ.


Surviving with Mrs. Anderson are eight children: Mrs. Lorene Wiebe, Lovelock, Nev.; Mrs. Phillip (Velma) Smith, Marie, Utah; Mrs. Spenser (Lois) Fausnet, Montrose; Leonard Anderson, Castle Rock, Colo.; Lloyd Anderson, Pixley, Colo.; Morris Anderson, Midvale, Utah; Horace Anderson, Olathe, and Robert Anderson, Delta. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ollie Mullins, Sherman, Texas, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.


Mr. and Mrs. Anderson observed their golden wedding in September, 1954, at which time all members of their family were present for a reunion.
