Luther Abate, 62, died Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. He was born in Port Arthur, TX and lived there all of his life. He was an avid sportsman and a proud member of the N.R.A. He was a graduate of F.B.I. National Police Academy and a retired police sergeant for Port Arthur Police Department with 26 years of service.
Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
He is preceded in death by his father Jack Abate. Survivors include his wife, Lita Abate of Port Arthur; son, Lance and wife Deanna Abate of Port Arthur; daughter, Lori Abate Humphrey and husband Tad Humphrey of Groves; mother, Lucille Abate of Port Arthur; brothers, Abe and wife Barbara Abate of Port Arthur and Ronnie and wife Joyce Abate of Port Arthur; sister, Ginger Abate Wilson and husband Jim Wilson of Port Arthur; two grandchildren, Randy Paul Abate of Port Arthur and Grant Aaron Humphrey of Groves and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
