~OBITUARY OF LAWRENCE G. PRESLEY

Memorial rites for Lawrence G. PRESLEY, 44, have been set for 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday, June 23) in the First Baptist Church, where Mr. PRESLEY was a member.

The family wishes to remind friends that memorials may be sent to the Cancer Fund or to another chosen charity.

Mr. PRESLEY died at 4:00 a.m. Tuesday in Sanford Hospital, following an extended illness.

He was born January 14, 1922, at Hooker, Oklahoma, the son of Thomas D. PRESLEY and Roxie Ackley PRESLEY. Most of his life as a youth was spent at Rolla, Kansas.

Mr. PRESLEY was married on October 23, 1948, to Wauthena SKINNER at Clayton, New Mexico, and the young couple lived at Guymon, Oklahoma, for one year before moving to Perryton in 1949.

They lived here until 1953, with Mr. PRESLEY working as services manager and mechanic then moved to Nowata, Oklahoma, where they remained until 1959.

Mr. PRESLEY has lived at Perryton since 1959, working as for a time as garage service manager, then operating a service station for a time before returning as Voiles Ford service manager within the past year.

Officiating at his services this afternoon will be Rev. Edgar Jones, Baptist pastor, and Rev. Bill Sparks, Calvary Temple pastor.

Boxwell Brothers will direct interment in Ochiltree cemetery.

Pallbearers all fellow employees at Voiles, will be Lionel SETTLES, James BANKS, Lloyd OLIVER, Don SEELIG, Larry HART and Frank JENKINS.

Mr. PRESLEY is survived by his wife, Wauthena PRESLEY and six children, four of them at the home, 121 North Indiana, Perryton. One son, Thomas Victor PRESLEY, is serving with the U. S. Navy in the Vietnam area, and a daughter, Mrs. L. G. (Rebecca Kay) ROBERTSON, lives in Meridian, Mississippi.

At home are two sons, Larry Dean and Terry Lee, and two daughters, Judy Ann and Ila Jean. There is also one granddaughter, Rhonda Kay ROBERTSON of Meridian.

Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Kathryn PRESLEY of Rolla; a grandmother, Mrs. Della PRESLEY of Rolla; and three sisters, Mrs. R. A. STINETT of Vacaville, California, Mrs. Lyle IRONS of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Mrs. Dale EASTERWOOD of Rolla.
