John David Rogers was the son of Jonah Malone and Caroline Alston Holmes Rogers.

In 1835 JOHN DAVID ROGERS was received by letter into the Nanafalia Baptist church where he was an active member until he was dismissed by letter November 17, 1860.

Aimwell Baptist church was organized in November 1860, several of the Nanafalia Baptist church members were dismissed by letter on November 17, 1860, including some of the known Charter members of Aimwell Baptist.

John David ROGERS and Desdemona "Desdy" ROBERTS were married on December 25, 1841 in Nanafalia, Marengo County, Alabama.

They were the parents of nine children.
