Funeral services for Rufus C. McAnnally Jr., 85, of Garden City will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Bobby Smith, Keith Gambill and Bill Ellis officiating, with interment in Garden City Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McAnnally died Monday, May 28, 2012, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 23, 1926, in Garden City to Rufus Clark and Sarah Shaver McAnnally. He worked as a dock worker at Ryder Truck Line and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; late wife, Melba McAnnally; a grandson, Jared McAnnally; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Bonnie McAnnally; two sons, David A. McAnnally and Dennis Wayne (Sandie) McAnnally; his stepchildren, Bobby (Patricia) Smith, Deborah (Donald) Gray and Arlita (Eugene) Pennington; two sisters, Laura (Donald) Harrison and Geraldine Weber; three grandchildren, Amy (James) Absher, Eric McAnnally and Clay (Kara) McAnnally; three great-grandchildren, Devyn Self, Brian Prisca and Savana McAnnally; nine stepgrandchildren; and 18 stepgreat-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Garden City First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
