BROWNFIELD (Special)-Services
for Mrs. J.M. (Gertrude) Wise, 84, of
Brownfield, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
in First United Methodist Chruch in
Meadow with the Rev. James Hamilton,
pastor, officiating.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m.
Saturday in Quitaque Cemelery at Quitaque.
Burial will be under the direction
of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Born in Bellevue, she moved to Plainview
with her parents where she attended
Seth Ward and West Texas State at
Canyon.
She married J.M. Wise in Silverton
Sept. 9, 1919, and lived in Quitaque
where he farmed until his death in 1945.
She moved lo Canyon in 1946 where she
was postmistress at the West Texas ostal
Substation from 1948-1955. She moved to
Brownfield in 1975 where she was a
member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs.
Odell Wilkes of Meadow; a stepdaughter,
Mrs. Ruby Parnell of Monroe, La.;
two sister, Mrs. Ada Smith of Graham
and Mrs. Lola Carney of Houston; three
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
