Charles J. Burns of Denver, a retired Air Force officer, died May 22 at Porter Hospice. He was 82.

A funeral mass was said May 25 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Interment was in Fort Logan National Cemetery.

He was born March 20, 1913, in Burritt Township, Ill. On Dec. 26, 1942, he married Marie L. Pozzi in Rockford, Ill.

Burns attended St. Thomas High School and the University of Denver.

He is survived by his wife and two sisters, Charlotte Jacobi and Harriet Purget.
