McKinney, Donald, 72, died on Mar. 3, 2009 at Kaiser Permanente in Anaheim, CA after a brief battle with lung cancer. Don was born in Aberdeen, WA to Lee McKinney and Eleanor Hartman McKinney. He served 10 years in the Navy, stationed at Barber's Pt., Hawaii as a radar specialist and Whidbey Island, WA as an air traffic controller. After leaving the service he owned several businesses in Orange and L.A County, ending his career as an RV salesman. He married Carole Freer in 1966 and had a son, Greg McKinney (Ruby) of Irvine, CA. He also has two daughters, Michelle Eneks (Gene) Lincoln, AR and Teresa McKinney, Prairie Grove, AR. He had 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a son, Mike McKinney; his mom and dad preceded him in death. Two sisters survive him, Cheryl Tamasese (Suli) Hawaii and Dr. Roxanne Gerbrandt (Wayne), Tennessee. Don and Carole traveled the US for 12 years in an RV, spending summers in WA and winters in AZ. Don loved to golf and play poker. He was an avid baseball and football fan and owned several classic cars. His hobby was restoring antique radios. Visitation will be at Fairhaven Memorial Park on Mar. 9 from 4 to 8 pm with burial services at Riverside National Cemetery on Mar. 10 at 11:15 am.
