Funeral services were held in Hannaford July 26 for Markus Bakken, 71, who died July 23. The Rev. Alexander Thompson officiated at the funeral held in Hannaford Lutheran Church.
Mr. Bakken was born March 28, 1887 in Toten, Norway, the son of Johannes and Aintonette Bakken. He lived in the Hannaford community 53 years, and was a carpenter by trade.
In 1912 he married Anna Sebby who died in 1957.
He is survived by two son and two daughters, Arthur of Crookston, Minnesota; Mrs. Claude (Myrtle) Freer, Walum, N. Dak.; Mrs. Ivan (Alma) Nelson of Phelps, New York, and John of Fargo; six grandchildren.;
Four brothers, John, Jorgen, Sigrud and Selmer, all in Norway, and two sisters, Paula and Minda in Norway.
His wife, parents and one sister preceded him in death.
