Mr. Bakken was born March 28, 1887 in Toten, Norway, the son of Johannes and Aintonette Bakken. He lived in the Hannaford community 53 years, and was a carpenter by trade.
In 1912 he married Anna Sebby who died in 1957.
He is survived by two son and two daughters, Arthur of Crookston, Minnesota; Mrs. Claude (Myrtle) Freer, Walum, N. Dak.; Mrs. Ivan (Alma) Nelson of Phelps, New York, and John of Fargo; six grandchildren.;
Four brothers, John, Jorgen, Sigrud and Selmer, all in Norway, and two sisters, Paula and Minda in Norway.
His wife, parents and one sister preceded him in death.
