enlisted Aug 16 1861 as Corporal Co A, 6th Reg, Ks Inf. Honorably discharged Mar 7 1862 as Sergeant Co E 6th Kansas Cav. Taken prisoner Jul 27 1864 on Mazzard Prairie Ark. Taken to Tyler TX where he wwas in prison 10 months and exchanged as Prisoner of War May 17 1865. Honorably discharged Jun 21 1865.
