WIEDEMANN

Mildred Arletta Wiedemann was born April 3, 1914 on a farm northeast of Union City where her parents George Bradford and Olive (Newman) Griffin were living at that time. Her childhood was spent in the Yukon/Richland area where she attended school at Mustang Valley, Valley View, Richland and then Yukon High School where she graduated in 1932. On February 15, 1936 she was united in marriage to Herman Wiedemann in June of 1942, Herman and Mildred moved to a farm west of Richland. They operated a dairy, farmed wheat, corn, alfalfa, oats and cotton. Mildred always worked side by side with her husband. She enjoyed being outside driving the tractor, hauling the wheat to the elevator and doing chores. An automobile accident took the life of Herman on May 26, 1980. Mildred remained active on the farm until her health declined in early January 2002. Since that time she has resided at the Ranchwood Nursing Home in Yukon. She went to her eternal home at age 91 on Oct. 25, 2005. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City. Also a member of the Lucky Four Extension Homemakers, Frisco Cemetery Ladies Association and was secretary of the Frisco Cemetery Association for 16 years.

Mildred is survived by children Isla Jean Kyle and husband John, Rodney Wiedemann and wife Georgia, Dr. Bernie Wiedemann and wife Sherry all of Yukon, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a sister Pauline Lash of Yukon. Brothers Merle, George and Paul Griffin and sisters Bertha Carlson and MaeBelle Brown predeceased her. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 29, 2005 in the chapel of Smith & Turner Mortuary.
