Miner Survived By Parents
Gary Lee Klinger, 19, of RD 2 Hegins, died Tuesday as a result of a mine accident in Porter Tunnel of the Kocher Coal Company.
Mr. Klinger was born in Pottsville, March 16, 1957 and was the son and only child of Earl and Betty (Harner) Klinger. He had previously been employed at Starr
Poultry, Valley View. He was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, RD Ashland.
Surviving in addition to his parents, are his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Eva Koons,
of Valley View; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Verna Shoffler, RD Hegins; paternal grandfather, Charles Klinger, of Buck Run; paternal step grandfather, Jacob Shoffler, Sr., RD Hegins.
Services will be held Friday morning in Church of Christ in Christian Union Church,
with the Rev John P Clough Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Salem UMC Cemetery,
RD Ashland. The Arthur R Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, has charge.
