Miss Bernadena Schuette, of Leonard, and Mr. Joe Latchford, of Atlanta, MO., were married January 24 in Macon, the ceremony being performed at 8 'clock Wednesday evening at the Catholic Church by Rev. T.J. Barrett. They were attended by the groom's brother and the bride's sister, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Latchford. A dinner was served the wedding party at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. F.E. Schuette, and the following day a wedding dinner was given them by Mr. Latchford's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Latchford.

The bride is a popular member of the younger set in the Leonard vicinity and is a young lady of charm and refinement. The couple will reside for the present on the farm with the groom's parents, who live east of Atlanta.

Mrs. Bernadine A. Latchford, 95, of Shelbina, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 1990, at 10 a.m. at the Salt River Nursing Home in Shelbina.

She was born November 29, 1894, in Leonard, the daughter of Ferdinand and Julianna Peoples Schutte(sic). On January 24, 1923, in Hager's Grove she married Joseph Latchford. He preceded her in death in 1978.

Surviving are three children, Leo Latchford of Shelbyville, Leon Latchford of Shelbina, Irene Mull of Marceline; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rosey Latchford of Fulton. In addition to her parents and husband, Joseph, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters, Henry, Frank, John and George, and Ann, Julie Ann and Marie.

Mrs. Latchford was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelbina and had lived her entire life in Shelby County.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 1990, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina. A Wake Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 1990. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 27, 1990, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shelbina. Fr. Eric Schlachter will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Shelbina.
