Mrs. Edith D Miller, formerly of Huntingdon and Mapleton Depot, but a resident of the Rebekah Home in Harrisburg for the past 2 years, died in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, Tuesday, December 16, 1969, at 11AM death followed a 3-week illness. Mrs. Miller had been hospitalized since November 23. She was born April 28, 1892, at Mapleton, daughter of Samuel E and Louisa A (Hooper) Dell. She was twice married; her first husband, Raymond I Wilson, preceded her in death in 1918. She was married to Herbert Miller on June 16, 1927 and Mr. Miller died June 5, 1947. Surviving Are these children: Mrs Junior (Jean) Heaster of Mapleton Depot; Mrs Richard (Sara Jane) Lear of Lebanon; Mrs Fred (Catherine) Varonni of Otho, Iowa; Mrs Luther (Elizabeth) Dore of Folsom, New Jersey; Charles Miller of Huntingdon; Donald Miller of Shawano, Wisconsin and Robert E Miller of Harrisburg. There are a number of surviving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs Miller, who was an only child, was preceded in death by a son to the first union, Walter Wilson, in 1927 and by a son to the second marriage, Max Dell Miller in February 1959. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Mapleton Depot and belonged to Lady Della Rebekah Lodge of Huntingdon and was a past noble grand of the lodge. Mrs. Miller was graduated from Mapleton High School, attended Millersville Normal School and Juniata College. She taught school in Henderson Township for several years and served as a clerk for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company at the Mapleton office for a number of years. Funeral service will take place on Friday, December 19, at 2 o'clock from Brown's in Huntingdon with the Rev John Kane officiating. Interment will be made in the Mapleton IOOF Cemetery.
