Emily E. Daugherty, 87, of Uniondale, passed away at 9:30am on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at her residence in Uniondale, Indiana,
She was born on May 4, 1922, in Converse, Indiana. Mrs. Daugherty was a former resident of Penn Township, Jay County, for many years before moving to Uniondale.
She was a former member of Blackford Methodist Church and a member of Jolly Workers, Indiana Extension, Homemakers Association of Blackford County for 50 years and and the Pennville American Legion Auxilary. She formerly worked at Ledbetter Meats - Carlos Williams Grocery in Montpelier.
She was a graduate of Van Buren High School.
She married Thomas Daugherty September 4, 1943, in Marion, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Leslie Andrews and the late Ida (Masters) Andrews.
Survivors include daughters Sheryl Kneuss of Uniondale, Indiana and Sandra Pruiss of Brandon, Florida; Sons Thomas Barry (Jennifer) Daugherty of Amboy, Indiana and Chris (Janet) Daugherty of West Lafayette, Indiana; Siste, Thelma Miller of Warren, Indiana; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Daugherty; father, Leslie Andrews; mother Ida (Masters) Andrews; 2 brothers; 4 sisters and 1 great-granddaughter.
Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 Windsor Street, Montpelier, Indiana, where family will receive friends from 4pm to 8pm Tuesday, October 27, 2009. Funeral services will be at Glancy Funeral Home at 10am Wednesday, Ocgtober 28, 2009, with Rev. Joe Haney officiating.
Internment will be at Twin Hill - I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Pennville, Indiana.
