Jessie M. Lenz, 88, Lone Tree, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Iowa City Rehab and Health Center, Iowa City.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lone Tree United Presbyterian Church, Lone Tree. Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery, Lone Tree.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7:30 p.m. Rebecka Service, at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home, Lone Tree. A memorial has been established.
Mrs. Lenz was born on December 14, 1913, in Nichols, the daughter of Charles and Maude (Smith) Mills. She married Albert W. Lenz on February 26, 1938, in Muscatine.
She worked a schoolteacher for several years and then was a homemaker, helping her husband with the family farm.
She was a member of the Lone Tree United Presbyterian Church and a 50-year plus member of the Rebecca's.
Survivors include a son, Ivan Lenz and his wife, Marilyn, of Iowa City; a daughter-in-law, Mary A. Lenz of Iowa City; three grandsons, Mark Lenz and his wife, Diana, of Lone Tree, Kevin Lenz of North Liberty; and Bill Lenz and his wife, Mary R., of Lone Tree; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Grant Lenz; and a brother, Ben Mills and his wife, Edith, of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Ronald; a grandson, Tommy Joe; a sister, Dorothy Hansen; and a brother, Donald Mills.
