Frederick was born in Lagershausen, Hannover, Germany and immigrated about 1846 at the age of 26.

Frederick did not own property in his name until 1855. His brother Gottlieb, however, did have a farm at Lot 20, Concession 2 in Ellice Township of Perth County. Next door, at Lot 21, lived the family of John Lautenschlaeger. It was his daughter, Christina who would become Frederick's wife. They were married on February 22, 1849 in Ellice Township by Reverend August Kelterborn.

Frederick and Christina's early marriage was blessed with the following children:

Charles 1849
Elizabeth 1851

The 1851 Census for Fullarton Township lists this young family along with the Kramer and Seebach families. Frederick was making a living as a carpenter and his brother, August, working as a tailor was, listed next along with his new bride.

Their marriage was further blessed with these children:
Charlotte 1853-1854
John 1854

In 1855, Frederick purchased the West half 50 acres at Lot 22 of Concession 4 in Ellice Township. The following year he also aquired the West 25 acres of the East half of this lot from Henry Gebhardt. Frederick's brother August owned the East 25 acres of the East half.

So, it was at this farm that Frederick and Christina's remaining children were born, having all their children baptised at nearby 1st St. John's Lutheran Church in Seebach's Hill:

Albert 1856
August 1869
Henry 1861
Catherine 1868
William 1873

Between the birth of their last two children, the oldest children began to marry. Elizabeth married Gottlieb Mielke in 1871 and moved to Logan Township. Charles married Annie Gall in November of 1872. They purchased North half of Lot 26 on Concession 10.

The 1881 Census shows that Frederick and Christina's remaining children are all still living with them. However, daughter Catherine is now listed as having the surname Schaffer. She was only 13. And from there on she is a mystery. According to her mother's obituary, by 1905, Catherine is not listed as a survivor.

Son John married Carolina Feltz in 1881 and his brother Albert married Carolina's sister, Ulricka in 1882. In 1884, Henry married Dorothea Famme.

Sometime around 1889, son John took his three sons by Carolina, leaving baby daughter Mathilda, and fled to Michigan with Carolina's sister Mathilda Feltz.

Widowed in 1889, daughter Elizabeth Mielke raised her four children alone and never remarried.

Tragically, the very next year, eldest son Charles also died, leaving Annie a widow with a daughter and two sons. She remarried to Conrad Dietrich.

It wasn't until 1893 that August married and his bride was Katharina Gebhardt. August's father, Frederick died the following month.

In 1898, William, the youngest child of Frederick and Christina was married to Christina Klein.

In 1901 Elizabeth Mielke passed away at the age of 50.

Predeceased by her husband and four of her children, Christina died 2 days before her 74th birthday.
