Wallace Bascom was shot through the heart and killed at the battle of Gettysburg, July 3rd 1863. Company A., 2nd Mass. Regiment. He married in 1853 Ellen Kelsey, and they had four children Charles, Kate, Frederic, Emma. The Bascom family grave stone for his parents in Claremont NH also bears Wallace's name, and his name is on a marker in Gettysburg.
