Lewiston - Robin E. Nobles, age 56, of Lewiston, NY, died June 3, 2004 under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice, after a long illness. Robin was born August 24, 1947 In Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Joan (Simons) Eddy of Bloomfield, NY and the late George P. Eddy, Jr. who died May 19, 2001.
She had been a resident of Lewiston since 1997, having moved there from Youngstown; where she had lived for 24 years. In 1969, she graduated from SUNY at Brockport with a Bachelor of Education degree and married Terry L. Nobles on June 28th of that year. Mrs. Nobles began her teaching career as a Physical Education Teacher at the Thomas Marks Elementary School in Wilson, NY . and in the Starpoint School District. She interrupted her career to raise her family and to become a partner in the Youngstown Nursery School, located in the Red Brick Schoo1house m Youngstown. Robin then taught remedial Math at the Lewiston Porter School District for 10 years, retiring in 2003. In 1996, she received her Masters in Education from Niagara University.
Robin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown and had been a Troop leader and Trainer for the Niagara County Girl Scouts in Youngstown. She was a former member of the Youngstown. Recreation Commission and a former member of the Lewiston Porter Sports Boosters. Robin was also a talented and avid quilter.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her children, Kristen M. Nobles of Somerville, MA and Scott M. (Stacy) Nobles of Brooklyn, NY; her sisters, Sandra (George) Hudler of Freeville, NY, Nancy (Edward) Parsons of Littleton, MA and Betsy Lewis of Bloomfield, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 6, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 100 Church St., Youngstown, with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be NO PRIOR VISITATION. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, at the convenience of the family. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Dr., Suite 206, North Hollywood, CA 91607, Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094 or the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown Memorial Fund, 100 Church St., Youngstown, NY 14174.
