Marvin E. "Buddy" Bennett, Jr., 70, of Columbia died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1997, at Boone Hospital Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Nilson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Baize officiating. Burial will be in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at the funeral home.
Mr. Bennett was born May 16, 1927, in Howard County to Marvin and Gertrude Forsee Bennett.
He married (Private) on May 4, 1947, and she survives.
Mr. Bennett was a retired maintenance worker for Stephens and Columbia Colleges.
Survivors include his mother, of Anaheim, Calif.; a son, four daughters, two brothers, (Private) and Jimmy Bennett, both of Columbia, four sisters, (Private) and (Private), both of Columbia, and Della Bennett and Ethel Maloney, both of Anaheim; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 1 Broadway, Suite C-1, Columbia, Mo., 65203.
