Helen Fern Cornwell, 75, Effingham, died 5:05 a.m. today, Aug. 7, in St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham.
Visitation and services will be in Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery.
Mrs. Cornwell was born Dec. 30, 1909, in Jasper County, the daughter of Alva and Pearl (Minnick) Wetherholt. He married Ernest Cornwell Jan., 1930, in Jasper County and he
preceded her in death May 3, 1981.
She worked for E.R. Moore Co. for several years and was a member of the Christ Church in Effingham.
Survivors include three sons, Gale, Ingraham; Robert, Manteno; Mike, Effingham; six daughters, Mrs. Arlene Whitehurst, Terre Haute, Ind.; Mrs. Mary Carter, Gardner; Mrs. Joan Behunin, Prescott, Ariz.; Mrs. Anne Gee, Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. Sharon Fritscher, Bakersfield, Ca.; Mrs. Kathy Tesch, Minooka; two brothers, Leland and Medford Wetherholt, both of Latona; two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Dean) Foster, Latona; Mrs. Florence Zimmerman, Newton; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
