Mr. Franks died Monday in Coryell Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 7, 1905, in Coryell County, son of the late Henry and Minerva Franks. He married Fay Hopson in December 1926. She died in 1934. He later married Nannie Lazenby of Feb. 7, 1942.
Mr. Franks was an employee of the Lone Star Gas Co. in Gatesville before retiring Dec. 29, 1969. He was a member of the volunteer fire department for 20 years before retiring in 1965.
He was a charter member of the West Main Church of Christ and presently was serving as a charter member and elder of the Cedar Ridge Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Nannie Franks of Gatesville; two sons, Ross Franks of Arlington and Gene Franks of Lampasas; one brother, M.R. Franks of Hamilton; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Scott's Funeral Home of Gatesville was in charge of the arrangements.
