A funeral Mass for Mary Therese Cardy, 57, formerly of Skokie, will be celebrated at 10:30 am Saturday, at St. Peter Church, 8116 Miles Center Road, Skokie. Born Nov. 28, 1946, in Chicago, she passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, in Lake Forest. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Mary attended St. Mary of the Woods Grade School and the Immaculate Conception Academy High School in Dubuque, Iowa. She graduated from Briar College in Sioux City, Iowa, with an art education degree. She worked for LS. Berlin Press in their graphics art department and at the Marshall Fields State Street store, in display. She founded Cardy Graphic Arts Company, while living in Skokie and specialized in advertising layout, design and photography. In 1999, Mary worked for one year as a teaching assistant at St Patrick's School in Wadsworth and then at Woodland School in Gurnee for the past three years. She is survived by her siblings, Fr. William Cardy OFM of St Louis, Donald J. (Margaret) Cardy of Ingleside, Sally (Andrew) Mosko of Vernon Hills and Carol (Gary) Cardy-Cueno of Lincolnshire. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Donald K. and Yvonne M Cardy. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago.
