Funeral services for Mrs. Celina Andrepont Reed, 99, widow of the late Neville Reed were conducted Sunday in the Evangeline chapel by Fr. Bishop.
Interment was in the Reed Cemetery.Mrs. Reed died at her home near Evangeline on Saturday following an illness of five weeks.
She was the oldest resident of the community.The home in which she died was constructed by her husband 89 years ago. She traveled in an oxcart to this homestead site as a bride. She was the mother of twelve children of whom six survive her. They are Jessie, Martin, John and Mrs. Emma Cart, all of Basile and Mrs. Marie Hayes of Crowley. Other descendants include 49 grandchildren, 118 great-grandchildren and 83 great-great-grandchildren.She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.
