Paul Bass, 67, died Friday, December 2, 2005, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on High Street in Jackson. Services are 1 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 589 Hwy 43 South in Pinola with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bass was born in Bridgeport in Simpson County and lived most of his life in the Jackson area. He was a member of Pinelake Baptist Church where he was active in the youth ministry and was a former deacon. He was the owner of Suburban Building Company, Inc. and was past president of the Mississippi Home Builders Association and an active member in the Mississippi Corvette Club. Paul was an avid gardener and loved the beauty of nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents Phillip Bass and Hattie Little Bass of Bridgeport, brothers Carroll Bass of Atlanta, John Edwards Bass of Hattiesburg, and Phillip Lloyd Bass of Jackson.
Mr. Bass is survived by his daughter Rene Williams of Ridgeland; brother Charles "Sam" Bass and his wife Sandy of Pelahatchie; two grandchildren, Elliot Williams and Sophia Williams both of Ridgeland; uncle Archie Bass of Pinola; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his loving companion in life Leslie Mayeaux of Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the American Heart Association or to the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine - The Lulu Fund", co Melissa Montgomery, P.O. Box 6 100, Mississippi State, MS 39762.
