Funeral services for Ephraim Alexander Stamey, 70, of Altamont, who died Wednesday morning (February 14, 1951) at his home after a long illness, will be held Thursday (February 15, 1951) at 2 p.m. in Stamey Baptist Church.

The Rev. R.R. Shew and the Rev. T.W. Clapp will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a retired farmer, a native and lifelong resident of Avery County, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elias Stamey of Altamont, and a member of the Altamont Missionary Baptist Church.

He was married 31 years to Miss Jane Stamey who survives.

Surviving in addition to the widow, are one stepson, Ormond Farthing of Marion, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Leola Nichols of Morganton; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Mace of Three Mile and Mrs. Laura Wheeling of Marion; one half-sister, Mrs. Nancy Benfield of Spear and one brother, Clayton Stamey of Crossnore.
