She was born in Evanston, Wyoming on September 23, 1928 to
Ernest (ER) Casey Sr. and Ethyl Casey.
Alene is survived by her son Vince Scantlin and his fiance Susie Howell of Yukon, Oklahoma, daughter-in-law Tammy Scantlin, granddaughters, Ashley Jo Scantlin Hyde (Dan), Whitney Alise Scantlin, and Chelsea Nichole Scantlin all of Salt Lake City, Utah, Ernest Casey Jr. of Maryland, and several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother Vincent Casey.
Alene was born and raised in Evanston, Wyoming. She attended college in Utah and has resided and worked in many other states including Portland, Oregon, Casper, Wyoming, and Salt Lake City. But she always considered Evanston her home.
She worked as a freight clerk for Salt Creek Freightways and Action Express until retirement. She lived out the remainder of her years taking care of her dogs (and all other strays) and enjoying watching her grandchildren grow. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Alene had Grace.
Inurnment will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. in the Evanston City Cemetery.
