LIGHTNING KILLS ATLANTA FARMER

ATLANTA, Ill. (AP)—J. Alex Hoblit, 48-year-year-old member of a pioneer central Illinois farm family, was killed by lightning Thursday in a field of his farm.

Hoblit was struck from the seat of a tractor while he was operating a sprayer. He was pronounced dead at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Hoblit was an owner of the Hoblit Feed Company, and a director of the Atlanta National Bank. His widow, brothers Franklin and Joseph, and a sister, Mrs. Nancy Wertheim, all of Atlanta, survive him.
