Ada E. Welker, 95, former Lavelle resident, passed away Aug. 10, 2021, at Emmanuel Nursing Center, Danville.

Born May 17, 1926, in Lavelle, she was a daughter of Charles and Emma Eister Felker. She attended Ashland Area schools, and was the first member of her family to graduate from high school. An active member of the former St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Gowen City, Ada served as the recording secretary of the church and Women's Guild, as well as the financial secretary of the church consistory.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert, passing in February 2013; sisters, Queena Schmick, Emily Hummel, Marian Hornberger, Alice Smith, Arlene Roseman and Anna Smith; a brother, Frank Felker.

Survivors include daughter, Sandra Welker, Saint Clair; son, David Welker and his wife, Joan, Mill Hall; grandchildren, Erin Meyer, Brynn Bostic, Jackie Erney and Shannon McIlhenny; seven great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland, PA 17921. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeremy Smallwood, pastor of Church of the Nazarene, Lavelle. Interment will follow in the Citizen's Cemetery, Lavelle. A viewing will be held beginning at 10 a.m. until service in the funeral home.
