He was born April 21, 1908, in Erath County, Texas, to Arthur and Suejett (Cherry) O'Bryant. He married Leona Pearl Dillard on September 10, 1929, in Anson, Texas. She preceded him in death on August 23, 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
In 1930, he and his wife moved from Leuders, Texas, to Erath County where he farmed in the Selden Community until 1945. He and his family purchased a farm and home in the Smith Springs Community and lived there until June 2003 when he moved to a Granbury Nursing home in Granbury, Texas.
In 1940, he began working for the REA when they first began building lines in the area. He worked in the off season of farming until 1944 when he became a full time employee as a lineman and trouble shooter. He retired in 1973 from the REA and continued to farm in the Smith Springs Community for a number of years.
He is survived by three daughters & sons-in-law: Louise & Sammy Miller, Carlsbad, New Mexico; Janie Suejett & Bill Miller, Ft. Collins, Colorado; Joann & Bob Long, Granbury, Texas; a brother: Watt O'Bryant, Stephenville, Texas; two sisters: Susie Bell Cox, Abilene, Texas; and Martha Griffin, Stephenville, Texas; five grandchildren: Barbara Mounce and Jeanie McKean of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Lee Nichols, Craig, Colorado; Chris Whitfield, Longview, Texas; and Amy File, Louisville, Kentucky; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Molly Suejett Nichols, and three brothers, Charley O'Bryant, Carroll O'Bryant, and James O'Bryant.
