My ancestor had another son who had moved to Sandy Mountain in Rosalie establishing homestead. His name was William Everett. Samuel C Everett or Samuel Clay Everett like his older brother John were born in Hall County Georgia. I have an old photo of Samuel C Everett and his son Milton Thomas Washington Everett or Thomas together with my great Grandpa when they came over the mountain to visit. Samuel C Everett followed his big brother John off to war and served together. John lost an arm during the war. Samuel C Everett was a Jr. since his dad was named Samual as well. Both had homesteaded land on Lookout Mountain. His Dad was issued and deeded in Huntsville as part of the great Cherokee Indian land grab. There are prison records of Samuel C Everett which show he was captured during the Civil War, taken to Camp Chase Ohio and then eventually transferred to the prison Camp at Point Lookout, Maryland where he was eventually paroled during the war. Because he treated the wounds of many a companion soldier he was given the nick-name of DOC.
