Sarah Trimble was the daughter of Sarah McClaughry and Alexander Trimble. She married Rev. David Comfort on October 9, 1800 at Goodwill Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, New York. They were the parents of Jane King Comfort, 1802-1883; Eliza Comfort, 1803-1836; Maria Van Dyke Comfort, 1805-1867; David Comfort, Jr., 1807-1877; Ebenezer Stockton Comfort, 1810-1848; Sarah Trimble Comfort, 1811-1867; and James Hall Comfort, 1816-1875.
