Died Sept 27 1889 in Silver Spring MD.
One of the oldest and most widely known ministers of the Episcopal Church in the South. He graduated from Kenyon College, Ohio, completed his studies at the Theological Seminary at Alexandria and was ordained in 1838. After serving many southern parishes including Cheraw South Carolina during the Civil War, he became rector of Christ Church Rockville in 1874. He served there until his retirement in October 1887.
