Andrew Marinus was born to Emma Alfredette Trueblood, who had been raised by Andrew and Mary Johnson after the death of her mother, Emma (Goodletson) Trueblood. The Johnsons adopted Andrew and raised him as their own son.

Andrew Marinus Johnson, adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Johnson was born in Ephraim Sept. 20, 1898. While fishing on the Anderson Dock he fell into the water and was drowned July 14, 1908. Little Andrew was an obedient and manly little boy and was a great source of comfort to his foster parents who will miss him sadly. He was a faithful member of the Moravian Sunday school. Owing to the pastor's illness the funeral was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Hardin of the Third Presbyterian Church Chicago. The interment was in the Moravian cemetery.
