Mrs. Jennie Brooks
Mrs. Jennie Brooks, daughter of Daniel L. and Elizabeth Johnston Wilson, was born December 31, 1849 at Lebanon, Iowa. She passed away at her home in Keosauqua, Thursday evening, Jan. 16, 1936, aged 86 years and 16 days. She was united in marriage to D. Swan, who died in 1881. One daughter, Mrs. Maude Blackford, of Long Beach, Calif., was born to this union. After a number of years she was married to Henry Brooks, who died some years ago. She is survived by her only daughter, Mrs. Blackford; one grandson, Kenneth Blackford, of Crane, Texas; and two brothers, V.L. Wilson, of Peoria, Ill., formerly of Ottumwa; and G.J. Wilson, of Milton; two nieces, Mrs. Hazen Beeler, of Milton and Mrs. Earl Thompson, of Galesburg, Ill.; and one nephew, LaRue Wilson, of Milton.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home in Keosauqua Sunday afternoon, Jan. 19th, in charge of the Rev. M.E. Hayes, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was in the Lebanon cemetery.
