William Wendell Dunn, age 76, cherished father and grandfather, passed away December 13, 2000 from pancreatic cancer.

Bill was born March 5, 1924 to William Alvaro and Olive Amanda Johnston Dunn in Montpelier, Idaho. Bill was raised in Rock Springs, WY and Centerville, UT, graduating from Davis High School in 1943.

After high school, Bill moved to Tacoma, Washington where he resided until relocating to Salt Lake City in 1992 to be near family. Bill married Twila Clark, Sept. 3, 1948, in Tacoma, Washington. Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 3, 1954.

Bill was a civil engineer for 34 years employed by the Washington State Highway Department. He was also a gifted carpenter, using his talent to beautify the homes in which he lived. He took great pride in a job well done. He loved fishing, was a great cook, and always had wonderful flower gardens with the most beautiful dahlias and gladiolus. He was a member of the LDS Church serving in many capacities. He epitomized charity and selfless service, caring tirelessly for his wife during a lengthy illness, and was always there to help other family and friends. He was truly an angel on this earth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who leaves a huge void in the lives of those he leaves behind.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife on Dec. 13, 1994, parents, one brother and two sisters. Survived by daughter, Karen (Roger) Ford of Murray; son, Ronald (Kris) of Murray; and three grandchildren: Craig, Leah and Scott Dunn; sister Twila (Kay) Guymon of Mesa, AZ: Elma Martindale of Midvale: Marjean (Lowell) Steed of Centerville, and sister-in-law and dear friend, Hilda Potter of Sandy.
