Addie L. Gilmer, age 89 of Onaway, Michigan, formerly of the Taylor/Wyandotte area, died May 13, 2009 at the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility.

Addie Ball was born in Marshall, NC on December 5, 1919 to Straley Benjamin and Lavadie (Kent) Ball. On August 26, 1937 she was married to Joseph W. Gilmer in Greenville, SC. Addie retired in 1974 from General Motors where she had worked as a seamstress. In 1977 she moved permanently to Black Lake from the Taylor/Wyandotte area. Addie enjoyed working in her yard and gardening. She also liked word search puzzles, cross stitching, and crewel embroidery.

Addie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Barbara (John) Liddle of Trenton; sons, Robert (Linda) Gilmer of Philadelphia and Donald
(Melissa Kirkum) Gilmer of Hendersonville, NC; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Lester Ball of Brighton, Ed Ball of Marion, NC, and Elmore "Bud" Ball of Marshall, NC; sisters, Beulah Corn of Hendersonville, NC, Clara Holbert of Akron, OH, and Sally Ball of Ashville, NC; dear friends, Gwen Sutton and Joanie Biedenbach; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gilmer; son, Roy Gilmer; brothers, Joe Ball, Paul Ball, Plummer Ball, Harley Ball, and Hoover Ball; and sisters, Lucy Massey and Ruby Grindstaff.
